“The Cover Of InStyle” Revealed Jameela Jamil And Celeste Barber Are Living Their Best Live

Actress Jameela Jamil and comedian Celeste Barber have been revealed as the stars of InStyle‘s special subscriber cover for December, and we couldn’t be more impressed with how it’s turned out.

Editor in chief Laura Brown has revealed the cover on Instagram earlier today, with the fabulous and funny pair billed as ‘The Subversives‘.

“These ‘subversives’ show (via activism with Jameela, humor with Celeste) that an over-filtered, deprivation idea of beauty is not that hot,” said Brown.

Jameela had recently revealed that she’s turned down around $3million from problematic brands who’ve reached out to work with her.

Jameela Jamil is known for her role in A Good Place, while Celeste Barber has become a bona fide superstar by posting her own down-to-earth parodies of glossy celebrity images.

In the accompanying interview, the pair talk about how they became friends, and about how social media influences people, for better and worse. Barber said of her own Instagram:

If there’s a good photo for me to do a parody of the Kardashians, about 10,000 people will send it to me in a day. People say to me that, If you’re a real feminist, you should say that people can’t talk about that model or celebrity that way.

“But that particular person I’m parodying has a billion-dollar industry behind her, loving her, supporting her telling her that everything she’s doing right. I’m just a girl who is fighting against that. People I parody are really OK with it. They are usually on board. So, if they like it, I’m fine.”

Jameela then slipped into an extravagant scarlet ruffled dress with a sweeping train while Celeste donned a silver and pink sequin number as they chowed down on pizza while standing in the gutter.

She founded the I Weigh movement to talk about body image issues and gender stereotypes. The 33-year-old actor recently told Cosmopolitan that she had turned down ads worth $3 Mn to avoid endorsing “problematic products”.
