Emma Watson Almost Replaced Emma Stone In Oscar-Winning ‘La La Land’, Details Inside

Remember Mia from La La Land? Of course, we do. Mia is one of the characters etched in our minds. Isn’t it? But what if we tell you it was not Emma stone who was first in line to play the character. A few weeks after Stone won The Oscars for the movie, Emma Watson opened about how she did not end up in the movie. There were plenty of rumors around. Why Watson was not on the movie starting from her being “too demanding” to her “having a tiff with Gosling”?

She finally cleared up the air saying “ Watson has finally cleared things up by providing her side of the story; telling SiriusXM. It’s one of these irritating things where sort of names get attached to projects very early on as a way to kind of build anticipation or excitement for something that’s coming before anything is really  agreed or set in the stone.”

Watson clearly knew she was not really viable for the role anyway. The Harry Potter actress was very involved with her then much talked about Disney film, Beauty and the Beast. Both the projects would have demanded serious rehearsal time which Watson could not afford.

“I knew I had horse training, I knew I will be dancing, I knew I had three months of singing ahead of me, and I knew I had to be planned to really do that,” Watson said of her Beauty and the Beast schedule. “And this was not a movie I could just kind of parachute into. I knew that the work has to be done by me and I had to be where I had to be. So scheduling conflict-wise, it just didn’t work out.”

And looking at how well both the films did look like Emma did what was best for both the productions.
